Bioclimatic house in Mallorca

The challenge of this bioclimatic house in Mallorca was to adapt a modern spatial layout within a traditional construction style imposed by the architectural standards of the area.

Located at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain rangea three-story traditional-style house in harmony with its surroundings, using natural materials and regional construction methods.

The spatial composition of the house is born in its center, where a double height space is erected, which articulates the different rooms of the house.

On the ground floor, we find the day area, open to the back of the plot where there is a natural stone pool.

On the upper floor, the night area is located, where the rooms enjoy views of the rugged landscape of the area.

This bioclimatic house in Mallorca adapts to the climatic conditions of the surroundings to improve its energy efficiency. Its proper orientation maximizes solar gain in winter, and solar shading minimizes the impact of solar radiation in summer. Materials with high thermal capacity are used to regulate indoor temperature, and cross-ventilation is promoted to maintain optimal air quality. Additionally, passive solutions, such as the use of shading and vegetation, are integrated to reduce the need for artificial cooling systems.

A family home to be lived in.
